Mental Theatre | Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker Spoiler Review
Saturday Jan 04, 2020
Saturday Jan 04, 2020
In the first episode of Mental Theatre of 2020 and the decade, Mike and Josh discuss their impressions after watching Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker twice. How did you feel about the film? Mike believes there was too much fan service and plot devices that took away from the overall film. Josh thinks Disney failed the Star Wars brand, fans and JJ Abrams specifically by not organizing a vision like they did with Marvel. Massive spoiler alerts, obviously. The boys always debate controversial continuity issues that have divided the fan base. With all the resources put into The Mandalorian series, Disney wanted these properties to be released around the same time. Were you disappointed with how the film felt rush? Do you feel it was fair to JJ Abrams? How did you feel about the plot? Kylo Ren and Rey seem to have the best story arch out of all the characters. Overall, Mike gave it a C+ and Josh gave it a 7/10 so quite similar. Josh saw the similarities with the Harry Potter series and Mike saw the similarities with Avengers: Endgame. Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context. Leave your comments and have them read on the next show. Thanks for listening and happy new year!

Mental Theatre | 2020 Movie Schedule + The Witcher + Joker Update
Wednesday Jan 01, 2020
Wednesday Jan 01, 2020
In another episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh talk about the possibility Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck dreaming the entire movie. Would this concept from Director Todd Philips take away from your feeling of the movie? Are you excited for the new comic book movies in 2020? New Mutants starring Maisie Williams for Game of Thrones has been finished for two years because of the Disney and Fox merger. Birds of Prey, WW1984, Black Widow, Venom 2 and The Eternals. Do any of these movies excite you? Birds of Prey doesn’t really excite Josh or Mike because they’re no in the demographics. Mike lets us know why we should like The Eternals. Not a well-known property, however it has a star-studded cast including Kit Harrington, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan and Salma Hayek. Have you seen the new Netflix show The Witcher starring Henry Cavill? Josh has started watching it and puts in the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones categories for those who love fantasy genre with a medieval time period. Mike’s brother Nate has already binge watched it and absolutely loves it and flows with the books and the video games. What do you think about the show? On the next episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh will give a full spoiler review of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker in addition to ranking all the saga films from 1 to 9. Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.

Mental Theatre | The Mandalorian Finale + Rise of Skywalker Feedback
Tuesday Dec 31, 2019
Tuesday Dec 31, 2019
In another episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh talk about the season finale of the smash Disney Plus hit, The Mandalorian. Spoiler-alert, obviously. Josh absolutely loves the origins vision. Mike thinks the Mandalorian armor looks like the Rocketeer. However, Josh feels John Favreau had some input simply because they are a “poor man’s” Iron Man suit. In the finale battle Mando is mortally wounded and refuses to take his helmet off. Would you stick to the way? We finally see the actor Pedro Pascal. Mike and Josh are still surprised there was no mention of Luke Skywalker considering the timeline. Josh considers Moff Gideon and his dark saber a definite force user and a couple notches below Count Dooku. Palpatine could have used them back in those days. Imagine if the original cast make dramatic cameos to propel The Mandalorian story along? After all, Mando’s goal is to now track down the Jedi. Why not ask Han Solo and Chewbacca? How did you feel about the first season as a whole? Josh sees a lot of opportunities for Disney and Star Wars to have an Assassin’s Creed style video game with the Mandalorian creed. Are you excited for season 2? In anticipating for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Mike gives a spoiler-free review since Josh hasn’t seen the movie yet – shame! Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.

Poetic Charm #23 | Women Do Not Want DIY Projects + Mind Reading Communication
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
Josh, Mikael and his wife talk about a Poetic Charm #12 Women Love DIY Projects. She believes girls do like DIY projects, however women do not. Mikael believes because women outnumber men, they believe they have no choice but to take on a “build-a-bear” project. Not to mention the unrealistic expectations portrayed by the entertainment industry. Josh believes this is a result of girls/women comparing their current boyfriend to a previous significant other. A virtual scoreboard where the girl is building an electric fence around behavior. Especially women of exceptional beauty, they are training guys like puppies because they have this control over men via tacit approval because of their social value. His wife admits there were times she wanted Mikael to know what she was thinking without saying anything. Mikael asks if there is anyway a man can get to know a woman without the woman imposing their will on the man like a Ken doll or “Build-A-Bear.” Josh believes these conversations are happening within the woman’s mind without the man being part of it. Love is a choice. What do you think? Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.

Mental Theatre | Black Widow & 007 Trailers + Mandalorian EP. 5 + Star Wars
Sunday Dec 08, 2019
Sunday Dec 08, 2019
In another episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh talk about their first thoughts after viewing the Black Widow trailer. Josh thinks it was more of a focus group trailer than an actual trailer geared to excite. Mike believes it was better than he expected. What do you think? Are you excited to see what happened in Budapest? Mike and Josh also talk about episode 5 of The Mandalorian. Spoiler-alert, obviously. Were you disappointed like Mike? Josh sees the continuity and the parallels between The Mandalorian and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in how it uses the show to create more excitement for the next moving coming out. Josh believes the recent “filler” episode is setting up big plot moments that’s going to have everyone salivating for season 2. After viewing the new 007 trailer for No Time to Die, Josh feels it’s time for Sony to switch gears in the franchise. Specially to Christopher Nolan and Tom Hardy. Daniel Craig is 51 and waking up at 5:00AM everyday to be in Bond shape. It is time to add some new life to the franchise and let Daniel Craig finish his career on his terms. Not to mention, having Christopher Nolan driving the Bond 007 franchise would open opportunities for actors like Leonardo DiCaprio as a Bond villain. The fellas agree Tom Hardy’s height at 5’9” may be a problem. Mike suggest Henry Cavill as another quality candidate who did superb work in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (and perhaps Mission: Impossible – Fallout). In this episode of Mental Theatre, the boys discuss if they would marry, date and or have a passionate superhero evening with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. Would you marry, date and or have a one-night fling with Black Widow? In anticipating for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, there have been a lot of rumors of Kathleen Kennedy interfering with production, similar to Solo: A Star Wars Story. Spoiler-alert in case the rumors are correct! Mike is incredibly upset with the fact Luke, Han and Leia have never appeared on screen together in the new trilogy. Josh thinks it is a great sign Kevin Feige is going to start producing Star Wars films. However, Mike thinks Kevin may being hearing one too many hats and will be drowning in work. Josh has an idea to fill the gaps of the Star Wars Franchise. Do you think Chris Pine as a young Luke Skywalker would work? Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.

Friday Dec 06, 2019
In another episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh review episodes 3 and 4 of the Disney Plus sensation, The Mandalorian. Spoiler-alert! Has anyone spotted the similarity with the Marvel intro and the new Star Wars intro for the show like Josh? Jon Favreau has done an incredible job with his work in the new hit series! Spoiler warning - obviously. Do you have a problem with the shorter run-time of the show like Mike? Josh believes the show is so thrilling that the short run-time shouldn’t even matter. Do you believe the infant who looks like a baby version of Yoda (#BabyYoda) is a clone? Mike brings up a great point – the special effects are movie quality. What do you think the production cost is per episode? And is it sustainable? News from the DC Universe is that the villains are going to have standalone films, similar to Joker. Josh believes there is a way for the Robert Pattinson Batman and the Joaquin Phoenix Joker to share the screen. Mike thinks there will be massive continuity issues. Josh thinks it wouldn’t make any sense for Gotham villains to have standalone films without facing Batman. Especially since DC has already stated they will not be origin stories. What do you think? Apparently Michael B. Jordan is in talks with DC about playing Superman. Do you think the world is ready for a black Superman and or James Bond? News of the new villain in Black Panther 2 has surface and it is Doctor Doom. How will Marvel make T’Challa more relatable to the non-comic movie genre fan base? Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.

Tuesday Nov 19, 2019
Tuesday Nov 19, 2019
In another episode of Mental Theatre, Mike and Josh react to the first two episodes of the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian. Spoiler-alert! Josh spots a similarity with the Marvel intro and the new Star Wars intro for the show. Josh and Mike talk about the long time in between the Avatar prequels and if it can galvanize fans to see it in theaters. Did you hear about the news about Zendaya possibly becoming Spider Girl? And the boys talk about what they think about the fictional character Wonder Woman and if she is someone they would date, marry or just have one night of superhero passion. Mike and Josh also talk about if Batman (Bruce Wayne) is an actual superhero. Spoiler warning - obviously. Listen all the way to the end or you may take things out of context.
